A good game at BAWA between two well matched teams. The hard and bouncy pitch meant this wasn’t the highest quality game, but the endeavor from both sides was there throughout. A first half of few chances saw Decliners take their’s when Ross slotted in at the far post, while RedStar missed, when the striker was through one on one but surprisingly opted to try and square it instead of shooting. 1-0 HT. The next goal was always going to be crucial and after a period where RedStar dominated, Emu came up with an unlikely worldie from outside the box. He was only playing up front to keep him out of harm’s way as he recovers from injury, or was it a stroke of managerial genius? Let the pundits decide! That goal was the clincher and Decliners settled into the game at last. Ross added a third from JT’s cross. Both sides had further opportunities but final score was 3-0. Always a pleasure to play RedStar, see you in Belgium!

Barely Athletic vs Recliners FC
A tough, bone hard pitch at Frys made for a scrappy game. Barely flew out of the blocks with 2 early goals, one of them gifted by a poor backpass, one a great lobbed finish. Recliners arrived in the game about 15 minutes too late, but gradually took control from there. Barely were physical and resilient as always and featured the same striker who had blown us away playing for Cowboys the previous week. Luckily he left his shooting boots at home this time and missed a couple of decent chances when Barely broke. Josh pulled a goal back just before HT and then scored twice more after the break, as well as hitting the bar. Barely’s chances in the second half mainly came from Recliners giving them the ball and in the end, a whipped corner was headed home for an OG equalizer. Things got a bit fractious towards the end and the excellent ref made a good decision to call a halt to proceedings a few minutes early. Good luck to Barely for the rest of the season.
Barely goals from Jim Semmence Clive and an Og.
Enjoyed the game.
Well done Recliners
Pucklechurch FC Vets vs Frampton Ath Vets
A disappointing result for Puckle as we went down 3-1 to a strong Frampton side. Wilts scored a wonder goal for us but nothing much went right for us, including a missed penalty late on. No excuses, over the two games against Frampton 3 points each is probably fair.
Chew Magna Vets vs Banjo Munchenbadback
First win of the season for Banjo who led by 1 before being pegged back to trail 1v2 mid-way through the second half. Two late goals secured the points for Banjo
