60 – Not Out!
The Bristol Corinthians League has extended its’ age range recently, with the addition of an Over 60’s Rep Side which has already been filling its’ diary with matches and tournaments.
The League was invited to play an Oxford Over 60’s team in 2020 and a squad was hastily assembled from BCL clubs by Qaz from Recliners FC.
Oxford triumphed 3-0, but a return fixture in June 2021 saw BCL secure a 3-1 win.
Further games saw BCL 60’s entertain Gloucestershire in August 2021, the visitors running out 4-0 winners. Bristol also hosted Welsh Vets Barry Town FC, losing 5-3, and recently took part in a tournament in Oxfordshire, alongside England over 65s, Maccabi Masters, Oxfordshire Blues, Oxfordshire Orange
Cambridge and Barry (Town) Veterans.
BCL 60’s has been invited to visit Cardiff 2nd October to play against Barry (Town) Veterans Football club, and will be hosting Oxfordshire again, provisionally booked for 7th November in Bristol.
