Pucklechurch FC Vets vs Thornbury Town Vets

  1. A competitive game played in the right spirit. Thornbury were the better team and deserved winners but we had two good chances to make it 3-3 late on before Thornbury sealed the win.

Pucklechurch FC Vets vs Filton Ath 35s

A strange old morning at Pucklechurch but we managed to edge a close game. In truth if Filton took their first half chances it wouldn’t have been a close game at all but a combination of poor finishing, good goalkeeping and lady luck meant we went in 1-1 at half time. Big Steve scored our goal with a sumptuous turn and finish. In the second half the game became a bit stop-start which affected Filton more than us and we took advantage and scored 2 more through Steve and Potter to edge us ahead. This knocked the stuffing out of Filton and the game got away from them towards the end.

Pucklechurch FC Vets vs Vasco Da South Glos

We took the bragging rights in the BS16 derby as we edged past Vasco in a tight encounter. Facing the stiff breeze and the hill in the first half we managed the game well and took the lead when George nodded home from a Conrad corner. Second half they were facing the elements but came out far better than us and after a 1966 dubious goal line decision the luck turned in their favour when a cross floated into the stanchion to make it 1-1. The game became stretched and end to end and we regained the lead when Youngy put a pearler of a cross in for Steve to force home. Within 60 seconds they were level when a cross from the right found an unmarked Durston who nodded home. We then had a good 10 minutes and took advantage by scoring twice through George and Steve before they got one back with a minute to go.

Pucklechurch FC Vets vs Frampton Ath Vets

A disappointing result for Puckle as we went down 3-1 to a strong Frampton side. Wilts scored a wonder goal for us but nothing much went right for us, including a missed penalty late on. No excuses, over the two games against Frampton 3 points each is probably fair.
