Clevedon Utd Vets vs Yate Town Vets

Yate town report

Our 2nd league game saw us visit Clevedon vets. We managed to come out 6 – 1 winners against a well organised side.

Enjoyable game with a good bunch of lads.

Nailsea Vets 45s vs Easton Cowboys 45’s

The match was moved to Easton Cowboys as a home fixture for them at their request.

The first half was excellent for the neutral both teams traded goals with the half time score being 3-3 in a open game.

2nd half Nailsea were much better organised and ran out comfortable 6-3 winners. Congratulations to striker Martin Sidebottom who scored an amazing 5 goals with Andy Moore scoring the other goal for Nailsea.

Red Star 35s vs Vasco Da South Glos

After two postponements in September, Red Star ran out on the hallowed turf of Somerdale Pavilion ready for another glorious cup encounter.  The two teams went toe-to-toe in the first half with Red Star showing no signs of early season nerves.  But with all team rebuilds it’s inevitable that gaps can appear, and Vasco were able to nick two goals before half time.  They added two more early in the second half essentially putting the tie to bed, but Red Star combined neatly to give Paul McIvor a tap-in from close range, making him our current season top scorer.  With the minutes ticking on Red Star pressed high to try and get a foothold, but Vasco began to show their class and experience by holding possession and breaking twice on the counter to score two more.  They’ll give any team in this league a good game and we wish them all the best for the cup run and the rest of their season.  A game played in good spirits and in keeping with the league’s principles.

Clevedon Utd Vets vs Easton Monday

EASTON MONDAY MATCH REPORT
Overall a well earned and gritty win that came through team persistence and an improved performance in the second half of the match. Great goal from Jamie, excellent controlling effort by the defensive quartet. Si told waiting reporters…”Got to witness Jamie’s wonder strike and Sherry’s amazing turn….tough game but second half was good from us. We had to dig deep for this win.” Arron later told Sky Sports…”Total effort today. Totally different game than our last 2 fixtures. Really hard fought game. Our fitness and desire shone through in the end.” It was left to Drane to sum up…”A battling performance from the whole squad and a well deserved win, we had to work hard for that one. Sealed by a well deserved 2nd from Arron.”

Easton Cowboys vs Pucklechurch FC Vets

A tight game between two evenly matched teams. We took the lead with a good strike from the edge of the box. The half continued in a competitive manner with us missing a close range chance and our keeper made a great save from a header. Easton equalised just before half time from a penalty. The second half changed in a 5 minute spell where our keeper threw one in and they scored a ridiculously good volley. A well taken header got us back into it but we couldn’t get the equaliser and with playing 8 up front at the end, Easton scored two on the counter attack to put a flattering look on the scoreline.
