Background: The club were founded in 2010 by ex-Filton High School pupils Andrew Porter and Lloyd Hiscox. Originally named Filton All Saints, the club competed in the South Gloucestershire Sunday Football League and then onto the Bristol Corinthians League. The squad were made up of players who attended a Thursday night kickabout in Bradley Stoke. The team changed their name to Filton High FC in the 2014-2015 season in respect to the now demolished Filton High School. The club have been actively raising funds for the Bone Cancer Research Trust since 2014 via their annual charity game, The Leigh Gaskin Memorial Cup.

Larry Steventon founded Lion Vets in 2014. Larry retired from regular Saturday football in May 2014 after playing for 37 consecutive seasons. Instantly regretting his decision he decided to form a veterans team the very next day! Lion Veterans were born. Many old war horses have returned to the fray and dusted their boots off to make a return to action. Rich Burge and his brother Lee, Dave Bennett, Russell Lee, Pete Castles, Kris Soni and Nick (Killer) Blackman to name but a few, all enjoying the Bristol Corinthians League. The Vets maintain close links with its parent club Lion FC so hopefully as players progress in years there will be a steady flow to ensure the club will be around for a few years to come.

Background
Formed in 2010, Red Star Redland was an amalgam of two and half 5-a-side teams made-up of players who mainly worked in the media, none of whom lived in Redland. The team took on new impetus when Andrew “Cobbsy” Robinson retired from playing and took-over as manager. He helped shape the club into a proper 11-a-side outfit which went on to have some pretty decent cup runs in the BCL and some excellent summer excursions at summer tournaments in Belgium accompanied by many litres of Jupiler. In 2019 with the average age of the squad creeping up and numbers starting to dwindle, the club merged with Red Star Bedminster which allowed a 45s team to be created alongside the 35s. With a 50s team added in 2021 there is now a Red Star team to take everyone involved up to retirement, and each side is built on the league’s excellent Corinthian principles and a love of playing football.

AR launched in the late 90’s, a motley crew of Local Government Workers (hence the Avon bit of the name) Retreads referencing our Michelin Man girths.
We began in Division 1 (there were only two divisions then) and secured one victory against the cup holders PSST. A two division demotion followed. There have been occasional triumphs like winning Div 3 in 2014/15, but the ethos is always that if you turn up you get a fair run on the pitch and no one is too good not to have time on the bench to accommodate others
