Ground: Nailsea school Mizzymead Road Nailsea BS48 2HN

Background:

Formed in 2016. Forming a second Nailsea Vets Club team seemed like a good idea for a few of the more senior players who were starting to feel the pace playing the relatively young 35 brigade!

Teams should be aware we play on an artificial pitch so training shoes or moulded boots. Usually have a post match pint in Sawyers Arms (3 High Street, BS48 1BT)

Background:

Established in 1992 out the back of an IT centre in Bristol. A couple of years languishing in the informal Avon Civils League were followed by half a dozen in the Bristol Sunday League until it was time to make the step up to the Bristol Casuals League in 2005. Several glory years at the top followed before a slow decline started. But that’s history…this year could be our year…

Cribbs Vets

Home Colours: Shirts (Royal Blue), Shorts (Royal Blue)
Away Colours: Shirts (Red, Shorts (Red)

Ground:The Lawns, Station Rd, Henbury, Bristol, BS10 7TB

Background: Cribbs Vets started out as Sun Life Vets and we used to play in the Golden Oldies festival at Fry’s Club. Occasionally, we would play friendlies against the likes of Winscombe Vets, mainly because they had floodlights and they were very social “Beer Matches”. As successive insurance companies acquired or merged with others, we became AXA Vets followed by Friends Life Vets. In 2013, Friends Life decided to close the Sports Ground so we set about keeping it open as a community club and re-named the Football Club – Cribbs FC.Robbie H has survived from day 1 of the Vets existence and has now clocked up 25 years as a vet footballer, amassing over 1200 appearances for Cribbs FC. He was quickly followed by now Chairman Dave Nelson, who still attends most matches and collected over 750 appearances too. We are one of the sole surviving founder team of the Bristol Casuals League – albeit our name has changed three times!! Honours have been very scarce but the fun of the changing room banter has always been the most important factor of turning out, for most of us. We are forever grateful of the efforts of present and past organisers of the Corinthians League. Thank you!
