League: 2021 45s Cup

Fishponds Legends vs Rapid Dementia

Rapid travelled to Frys to take on Fishponds in the cup with a full squad. New boy Nudger making his debut, looking bemused as the Corinthinan rules were explained pre match.

Unfortunately the first half proved quality rather than quantity counts and Rapid were very much second best. Fishponds dominant and one goal could easily have been three, hitting the wood work twice! The second half proved much better and Rapid were gifted a goal, poor distribution from the Ponds keeper allowed Jase Curtis to steal possession before finding archetypal goal poacher Nudger to score on his debut.

Fishponds had a golden opportunity to increase their lead after a ball to hand incident in the box led to a penalty being awarded, but failed to hit the target. From there on in Rapid began to dominate the game but spurned numerous chances to clinch the result. Penalty kicks were to decide the contest, Rapid Keeper Darren Bird making a superb one handed save amongst some dodgy shots! Rapid go through 3 -1.

Good even game, with only one slight issue that was quickly dealt with by Fishponds manager Lee George. Best of luck in the League Fishponds!

Easton Cowboys 45’s vs Shipham AFC

Shipham:  This one could have gone either way but, sadly, went the way of a last minute winner to Easton, after Shipham had previously been 2:1 up.  Just our luck, but at least we remembered what it felt like to be winning a match…for at least a few minutes.
