A good competitive fixture played on a sunny November morning. Moved to the 3G pitch with storms battering south west England earlier in the week. Sherston got off to a flyer, scoring early goals whilst Lion were still finding their rhythm. Lion adjusted their structure, which better dealt with Sherstons extra man in the middle, but clinical finishing meant they went in 5-0 down at the break. There was an unfortunate incident in the first half with two players both jumping in the air for a 50/50 high ball, but the mid air collision leaving the Lion CB hurt (suspected broken ribs) – Sherston wish him a speedy recovery. The second half was a very close affair, with Sherston not adding to their tally for a while, until a 30 yard volley with the keeper off his line. Lion eventually got the goal which they very much deserved for the chances created. Final score 8-1 win to Sherston.
