Chew Magna Vets vs Pucklechurch FC Vets
Match Reports
Chew 1-3 Puckle
An eventful morning and a good win was marred by a serious injury to Wilts who unfortunately snapped his Achilles early in the second half. We all wish him a speedy recovery.
On to the game. We had loads missing in typical Chew Magna away fashion, but we still went with a decent 14. We went uphill first half and had a golden chance to take the lead after a handball in the box but Sam decided to pass back to their keeper. Within 60 seconds the same man made amends by scoring direct from a corner. Chew started to dominate and equalised through a penalty of their own when Sam handled. And it was that man again who nearly edged us ahead before the break but Sam hit the post from 35 yards.
After Wilts’ unfortunate injury (no fault to anyone from chew for the record, there was no-one near him), we dominated going downhill and Youngy pounced on a defensive mix up to slot home. After several missed opportunities, debutant Pottsy slotted home after good work from Sam and Youngy and we took the three points but with no great happiness after the injury to Wilts.
