Recliners Youth Report
The rain lashed down for hours beforehand, but BAWA was deemed playable and in fact the pitch held up well for this entertaining pre-christmas game. With the slope in the first half, Recliners were largely in control, a few breakaway chances for the Pirates, but otherwise long spells of Recliners pressure. Josh gave us the lead, Rev tapped in following a scramble at a corner, then new starters Lee and Tim both finished nicely to notch on debut. Jamie added a fifth after a great move down the right after HT, but Pirates immediately hit back by bundling in a long punt from the keeper, then adding a pen after Chris was adjudged to have fouled with his follow through after a sliding tackle. Tibo scored a cracker from distance and Jamie got a second late on as the heavy pitch tired both sides. Considering the awful weather, this was a decent contest with some good football played by both teams and a treat to get a league game in before Christmas, thanks to Weston for offering to come up and get the game played.
