Henleaze Corinthians vs Thornbury Town Vets
Match Reports
In terrible conditions two well matched sides squared off for the third time this season. Corries initially had a squad of 15 (including a keeper), but by kick off the squad was down to 11 and Tom D in goal! In a close first half Corries squandered a number of good scoring opportunities, which ultimately proved their downfall. Thornbury had a few chances and it was only a matter of time before they went 1-0 up. Half time came and went in super quick time due to the cold and wet conditions. By the start of the second half the pitch was less grass and more mud as the game slipped away from Corries. A glancing header, an own goal from Alex put the game beyond Corries, before Tahir pulled one back for Corries. Corries eventually went down 4-1 after a rasper from Thornbury’s main man. Overall Thornbury were deserved winners in a game played in great spirit in terrible conditions. Corries had plenty of chances but just didn’t have their shooting boots on………as Tahir said after the match…….”It was the strikers fault we didn’t win that match”. 😉
