Wick Gerry Hatricks 45s vs Nailsea Vets 45s
Match Reports
I’ll keep this one short; its too painful to go into too much detail!
It says a lot that our man of the match (certainly in the first half) was Lee McGreevy in goal for Nailsea. At least 4 great saves helped keep a rampant Wick down to a one goal lead at half time (1-0). A 20 minute period in the second half saw Wick extend the lead to 4-0 before Nailsea had some reward for endless battling on ever tired legs. Lee Philips volleyed from 25 yards out for the most spectacular goal of the game but Wick responded with another 3 to make it 7-1 before the final whistle was blown.
Wick are an excellent footballing team with confidence and talent across the pitch. Their fitness made a big difference again but fair play to some of their older players who don’t look out of place in this talented team.
Pleased to report the game demonstrated the full spirit of the Corinthian league.
