Bryan Munich | — | The final game of 2020 was on, then off, then moved, then subject to tier problems but both teams pulled out all the stops to get it played, eventually competing on a huge boggy pitch, as wide as the Cheddar Gorge but with penalty boxes the size of a Subbuteo pitch. Red Star set off at a fearsome pace and caught Bryan out on 3 minutes with an excellent finish. Gradually a sluggish Bryan started to gain some traction and a trip in the box lead to an equalising penalty on 18 minutes. An injury forced a change and a long range shot 5 minutes short of the break meant Bryan Munich went in 2-1 up. The second half was attritional as Red Star piled on the pressure scoring a glorious headed goal from a right wing cross, 2-2. On 75 minutes a Bryan breakaway resulted in a well-taken goal then it was backs to the wall defending until the final whistle. Red Star are a good side with no obvious weaknesses. Game played in a good spirit, there were some tackles that might be described as Sounessian but I prefer to think they were mistimed rather than anything else. There was also a dust-up at one point but I was a long way away and my eyesight isn't that good so all fine. | 3 | Win |
