Shipham AFC vs Easton Cowboys 45’s

Easton Cowboys 45s Match Report

We travelled to Shipham this morning to play on their seriously sloping pitch without 5 midfielders and a keeper making his first start for the Cowboys in 5 years. We played downhill in the first half taking the lead when our left midfielder chipped the keeper from the left wing. We scored a second shortly before half-time. I’m not sure we really deserved our 2-0 lead but happy to take it.

Things were different as we played uphill in the second half and people started getting tired. We conceded a penalty and although our keeper got his hand to it he couldn’t keep it out. It was a bit of a slog for the rest of the half until we won a corner about a minute from the end. A low driven cross went in off a Shipham player. Game over and a 3-1 win for the Cowboys.

It would be fair to say that it wasn’t our greatest performance but we ground out the result and the promised rain didn’t appear.
